Rock Retaining Walls

We'll rock yourworld wall

Basalt, Coldstream stone, sleeper or gabion, built to withstand the test of time. Our basalt cladding is the one most people are after: Grey-Brown rock on a natural lean back, twenty face metres of it in a single day.

Order twenty face metres or more and the price drops 25%: $299 a face metre, down from $399.

Lettuce Rock A Special Deal

Basalt Landscape Cladding using Grey-Brown boulders, It's dense, it's local, and it’s stacked on a 60 degree lean back and if you purchase Twenty face metres, We are offering it at a ludicrous price of only $299 per face metre ! A saving of over 25%

We build in two forms. Landscape cladding is the softer approach, each rock set back from the next with planting nooks between, more rock garden than wall. Structured walling is the formal one, each stone locked into the next on a slight lean back, joins packed with fine crushed rock. Either can be built with drainage when required.

Rock around the block, on the house

Up to two numerals included ($35 per additional numeral)

Our stonework

Walls we've built on real blocks around the Hills. Every one of these is stacked rock doing an actual retaining job, not a showroom shot.

Drag it across. It's the only thing here that budges.

  • Stacked basalt retaining wall running the length of a lawn, built by Rock'n Earthworks
  • Low basalt rock retaining wall coursed along a paling fence above a mown lawn
  • Tiered rock retaining wall with planting nooks and groundcover spilling between the boulders
  • Large stacked boulders forming a retaining wall against a sloping residential block
  • Rock retaining wall stepped through a finished backyard with garden beds and lawn
  • Rock retaining wall running along a gravel driveway under established native trees
  • Basalt boulder retaining wall mid-build, stacked against a cut clay bank beside a brick house
  • Crushed rock driveway edged with basalt boulders, concrete sleeper wall holding the high side

Why we are so confident ?

We live on the hill we build on

Out of Cockatoo, not a city yard sending a crew up the mountain. Steep, wet, challenging access is every job we do, not the one we knock back. We’ve been building Rockwalls in Melbourne for a decade now.

Sourced direct or using a local supplier

Our Coldstream stone comes straight out of a local quarry and our Basalt comes from a local supplier, we keep things local to help support our community, making things affordable.

Prices on the page, not "Priced On Arrival"

Every retaining wall up there has a real number on it before you've picked up the phone. You'll know what a face metre costs before we've set foot on your property. If it’s a straight up, easy access build and its dirt neutral, meaning the dirt we dig out goes directly behind the wall or spread nearby then there will be no additional charges, otherwise we quote excavation and material management individually. Want drainage or general landscaping like garden beds, lawn soils and crushed rock pathways? We can add that to the quote no worries.

Same crew, start to capstone

The crew who quotes your wall is the crew who builds it. No project manager to chase, no stranger turning up on the day.

The wall's rarely the whole job

A wall is seldom the only thing a property needs. Driveway’s shot, drainage failing, whole yard’s wanting a going-over? Same crew, one quote, sorted together.
